🌯 Molotov cocktails, a burrito, and abortion.

  • Last May the offices of the conservative Christian, anti-abortion organization Wisconsin Family Action was damaged when someone threw Molotov cocktails into the space and graffitied the outside. No one was hurt in the incident.
  • The latest: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the crime. Investigators reportedly used DNA evidence taken from a partially-eaten burrito, social media, and surveillance footage to connect the 29-year-old Madison man to the incident.

  • Next Monday at Lakeview Library and next Wednesday at Alicia Ashman Library you can catch trailers for this year’s films and learn about the festival.

⚖️ The latest on the Dane County Jail project.

  • What's new: The price tag. Design architects estimate the cost of a six-story, 825-bed jail at $179 million. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi says the county has the money available to move the project forward and is urging supervisors to do so before the price goes up again.
  • About the project: The current downtown jail has been described as dangerous and inhumane. One Dane County Jail Study found that the county "should not consider extending the life of the CCB Jail, but should work towards getting out of the building with due haste."
