I just quit my job
You did what???

Hey, it’s Sam.
You may know me from the events newsletter! I handle most of our business operations stuff, too.
Since our founding in April 2021, I've been balancing this work with a separate full-time job.
For a while, things were great. I got to run Madison Minutes while still having employer-paid health insurance. 😎
But in the fall, things changed. My ship ran aground, matey!
And by that, I mean I ran into some serious burnout issues. It became clear to me that I had to make a choice, so I chose Madison Minutes.
I quit my day job last week, and starting in January, I will be the second full-time employee at Madison Minutes.
Needless to say, this is a big leap for me. I’m all in, folks.
I’m pretty scared, but I’m also excited! I’m going to be able to focus all of my time and energy on your needs, and I know our work will be better for it.
I believe we can make this work, but we’re going to need your help.
We still need 44 people to step up this month so we can meet our important membership goal.
Will you be one of them?
Thank you,
Sam
Membership FAQ
What does a membership get me?
Nothing (for now), sorry! We give away all of our content for free. However, memberships do ensure that Madison Minutes is able to keep publishing, and that’s something, right?
Why can’t you rely on advertising to fund Madison Minutes?
Over 100 newsrooms have closed so far during the pandemic. For many of those newsrooms, dramatic shifts in advertiser spending in early 2020 made it impossible to continue publishing. We want Madison Minutes to have a mix of revenue streams so that we are never dependent on choices that advertisers make.
