About snow days in Madison
Here's how to find out if you'll get a snow day.

Madison Metropolitan School District
According to Madison Metropolitan School District’s website, the school district will consider closing schools at negative 25 degrees. Families can expect a decision typically by 9 p.m. the night before a snow day. When Madison schools are closed, all activities scheduled inside those buildings for that day are also canceled.
Families will be notified by email, text, and robocall. The information will be posted on the MMSD website and social media channels. Local news outlets will also be notified.
University of Wisconsin–Madison
If you work or attend class on the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s campus, know that only Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin can determine if class is canceled, services are suspended, or the campus is closed. Stay tuned for weather-related announcements to the campus via wisc.edu, email, @UWMadison on Twitter, and local news media during winter emergencies for the latest information.
Madison College
For Madison College students, decisions due to inclement weather are typically made by 5:30 a.m. on the day of class, and notifications are sent through WolfPack Alerts, emails, Twitter and Facebook, website updates, and local news outlets.
